Allen Woods is a freelance writer living in Greenfield, Massachusetts. He has written everything from magazine features to readers for primary grades. The spark for The Sword and Scabbard came in the midst of research for an American history text. He plans a series which will follow Nicholas and Maggie through the Tea Party, Lexington and Concord, the War itself, and the early years under the Articles of Confederation and the Constitution.
